Note from Susan and Wayne LaSante…

Greetings and thank you from Anajali Ministries and from the Anajali School in the Kibera slum in Nairobi, Kenya.
It has been three months since Wellingtone Nabwoba was able to visit our church and speak with many of you. We would like to report to you what has happened since then.

As a result of Wellingtone’s visit to Littleton at both the Congregational and First Baptist Church, your gen-erosity was shown in donations totaling over two thousand dollars! Thank you for your wonderful support of the work of the Anajali School.

Thanks to the support of the many people in the US that met Wellingtone, Anajali Ministries was able to collect sufficient funds to complete the purchase of the ten acres of land destined to be the home of an Ana-jali High School. As of this writing, the deed and associated paperwork is being finalized.

In November, the entire school took their national tests to determine if they would be able to move on to the next grade. We are happy to be able to report that even the four students that were struggling with learning difficulties are moving on to the next level. And once again the school scored better than they ever had be-fore.

There are 21 eighth grade students in this year’s class, and Anajali Ministries has been able to find sponsors for all of them, allowing them to attend High School and continue their education. We have high hopes for their futures.
Anajali Ministries has embarked on a new program; finding 200 new primary school sponsorships by Val-entine’s day, 2012. Sponsoring a primary student is the best way to assure that the school is still able to pro-vide a quality education, as well as feed the students at lunch time. The cost of food continues to rise, mak-ing it more and more difficult to continue providing lunches. If you are interested in becoming one of those 200 new sponsors, you can do so either by visiting the website at www.hecareskenya.org or by sending your support of $240 per year ($20 per month) to the address shown at the end of this article. Please include a note stating that you would like to sponsor a primary student.

You can always keep up to date with what is happening by becoming a “friend” of Anajali Ministries on Facebook.
We will be going back to the Anajali School leaving Feb 13th and returning Feb 28th. Please keep us and our mission team in your prayers. Again, we wish to thank you for all of your generosity in supporting the Ana-jali School through Anajali Ministries.
