We love and welcome all children at CCOL. The few rigid rules we have are there to keep children safe. Please read these rules and go over them with your child. If you have questions about the rules, feel free to ask the CE Committee.

  • Before and during the 10:15 service all children must be with (that means in the same room with) their parents or with another supervising adult. If you are in the Parish Hall — that’s where your children should be unless another adult has agreed to watch them somewhere else. If you are in the sanctuary or setting up a classroom — ditto. No children are to be downstairs in the Parish Hall or in the classrooms without an adult.
  • Children in the 5th grade or below are only allowed in the balcony with a supervising adult.
  • During Sunday School time (that means after Children’s Time most Sundays and from 10:15 am on the first Sunday of the month) all children are either to be with a supervising adult in the sanctuary or downstairs with their class.
    • It is fine for older children to walk downstairs after Children’s Time by themselves, as long as they actually get to their class. If we find a child hasn’t made it to class, they will need to be escorted by one of their parents for the next few weeks to be sure.
    • Most Sundays, children who don’t want to be in Sunday School, but whose parents are teaching, can sit with Gail Wright in worship.
  • Children who are in Sunday School must stay with their class. If they have a problem they will either be escorted to their parent or their parent will be fetched to come to them. We cannot allow children to leave the room and go find their parents on their own.
  • If your child plays in a room (and sometimes that is fine) you are responsible for checking the room and making sure it is picked up afterwards. It isn’t fair for others to have to pick up after your child.
