Purpose
The Family Service Group provides families with elementary aged children (K-6) a chance to participate in community service projects.

Typical Activities/Projects
Ideally the group of families meets 2-3 times per season, depending on ideas for projects. Projects vary widely, but generally a meeting would involve an activity
that has a community service component to which children can relate. For instance, we had a member of the congregation come talk to the children about his
military service and then they made cards and blankets for soldiers in the hospital. We want our children to learn that they do have the power to make a difference
through their actions and to be proud of their service.

Some Helpful Skills & Talents

  • A desire to participate in community service
  • An idea for a project, along with a realistic idea of how to make it happen

Time Commitment
This is an ideal situation for anyone who wants to help out, but can’t make a regular or long-term commitment . We need people to lead or help out with single projects,
even just once a year.
