Youth in Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 are encouraged to participate in our High School Youth Group (HSYG) which meets most Sunday evenings from at 7:00 – 9pm.  It includes students from many high schools in the area. Led by the Leadership Team of Jennifer Dale, Kelli Harte, and Carol Murphy, the group brings high school students together as a faith community full of friendship, support, fun, service to others, transforming faith experiences, and leadership development.

The members of the group are actively involved in the planning and leading of events.  The schedule usually involves at least one service event, one fun event, and one faith development and/or life exploration activity each month.

The HSYG plans to go to Nashville, Tennessee in July 2012 to take part in another Group Week of Hope Mission Trip.  Planning has begun and interested high school students are encouraged to ask us about it and sign up to join us for this trip.  Everyone in grades 9-12 is welcome!

Last year the HSYG went to Fort Collins, Colorado on the fifth annual Mission Trip.  Trip participants worked with a variety of agencies and programs including a food pantry, an adaptive/therapeutic riding program, camps and summer programs for people with special needs and disabilities, and home repair and assistance programs.  Like all of our Mission Trips it was also a spiritual retreat — a time of spiritual growth through inspiring programs, creative worship experiences, and individual and group prayer and devotions.  There were also transforming opportunities to meet and get to know a variety of people since the group worked and lived with other youth groups from around the country.
